2010 was a big year for our family. Especially for Emma!! While thinking back over the past 12 months, I realized just how many big changes came her way during the year. In January I went back to work...just an interim position until May...but it was full time. In February, I weaned her off the paci. In March, she moved across the hall to a new 'big girl' room with a new 'big girl' (twin) bed. In June, Alexa joined our family...a HUGE change for Emma! And last, but certainly not least, in November we said bye bye to diapers and Em potty trained. Those are major changes for a little girl, and I have to say, Emma has handled them very well!! Yes, 2 has proved to be by far the most challenging stage so far where she is concerned, but when I put things into perspective, I realize that she really is a great, very well behaved little girl. I tried to spread out all the 'changes' so that it wasn't too much on her plate at once. I know I held off longer on the potty training than most would, but I have no regrets. I waited till she had adjusted to the new baby and she was so ready by then, it only took one day! She's also night trained now. She has been waking up dry for weeks!
2010 saw Mikey and I celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary, as well as Mikey's 5th anniversary working for the sheriff's office. I returned to being at home full time in early June, what a blessing!
This year, as is the norm I suppose, also brought grief admist the good...in February we said goodbye to Mikey's Mema, and in August, his Uncle Billy. My beloved and much missed Grandpa Johnson joined my Daddy in Heaven in October.
So there you have the high (and low) lights of our year. I love to think back over the years past because it reminds me over and over and over again that God has been SO faithful to me.
We are three days into the new year and already facing another big change!! Today is Mikey's 30th birthday...goodbye 20's!! Happy Birthday, Babe. I love you.
